The Garmin Descent Mk2 dive computer is designed to dive with or without a tank, in fresh or salt water, with Nitrox, Trimix or freediving, making it the complete and intuitive dive computer you’ve been waiting for. This model offers surface GPS, full color maps and location references so you can easily mark dive entry and exit locations. Underwater, the proven Bühlmann ZHL-16c algorithm ensures that you stay within submersion limits. Selectable tone and vibration alerts keep you informed throughout your dive, and when you return to the surface, the Garmin Descent Mk1 can also be used as a full-featured sports watch with all the best features of the Garmin Fenix 5X. It also comes with smart notifications to help you stay in touch on the go, and a design that’s as comfortable as it is stylish, so it can adapt to any everyday situation. With multiple dive profiles, including the ability to plan recreational, technical and free dives on the device itself, the Garmin Descent Mk1 puts all the important, real-time data you need to dive with confidence. The Garmin Descent Mk1 allows you to set tone and vibration alerts to warn you at critical points in the dive. It supports up to six different gas mixtures, including Nitrox and Trimix (up to 100% oxygen), and offers closed-loop rebreather compatibility. Configurable conservatism settings allow you to set your personal security limits. In addition to GPS and GLONASS satellite tracking for map-based surface navigation, the Garmin Descent Mk1 also features a full range of altimeter, barometer and compass (ABC) sensors. In addition, the compass display is very easy to read and is also accessible underwater. The built-in altimeter provides altitude data, while the 3-axis tilt-compensated electronic compass helps you stay on course whether you’re moving or not. For quick access to the compass screen, a convenient ‘tap to open compass’ option allows you to open the compass by double-tapping the screen instead of having to use the function buttons. The dive computer uses Garmin Elevate2 wrist heart rate technology to detect your pulse through optical sensors (must be in contact with your skin, not on a wetsuit or wet suit). The device monitors your exertion levels and automatically uploads your heart rate data to your online Garmin Connect account, so you can review and analyse the data at the end of the dive.

In addition to its dive features, the Garmin Descent Mk1 also offers sports, training and fitness features, as well as outdoor navigation tools. You can access physiological metrics, running dynamics, fitness tracking features and more to monitor your workout stats, measure your progress and prevent injuries. Preloaded activity profiles are available for swimming, running, cycling, hiking, skiing, rowing, paddle surfing and more. You can easily access various timekeeping, lap counting and map tracking functions. And as an extra measure of motivation, you can also download advanced workouts and training plans from Garmin Connect to your device. On the other hand, it offers smart connectivity with compatible smartphone to easily receive text messages, emails and smart notifications directly on the watch’s display. The Garmin Descent Mk1 dive computer is made from premium materials and is available in two finishes: one version with a stainless steel bezel and silicone strap and the other with a DLC-coated titanium bezel and strap. Both models have a GPS and GLONASS chip, via an omnidirectional EXO antenna mounted on the bezel, for better reception in the most challenging environments. The high-resolution, LED-backlit Garmin Chroma Display ensures excellent readability in all lighting conditions, both above and below the water. For increased scratch resistance, both models feature a high-strength curved sapphire lens. Battery life between charges is up to 40 hours in dive mode, 21 days in watch mode, 12 days in smartwatch mode and 20 hours in GPS mode (although these times depend on the configuration). QuickFit straps allow you to customize the style to any daily activity or special occasion, without tools. Longer QuickFit straps are also included for diving activities, as they can be worn over thick wetsuits and diving suits. The dive computer screen can be customized for free with displays, applications and data fields from the Garmin Connect IQ store. For your safety, Connect IQ functions are not available while diving to ensure that all dive features function as designed.
